March 9th- The Dinner Garden

DinnerGardenLogoToday I am wearing a shirt from The Dinner Garden. The Dinner Garden is a non-profit company on a mission to end hunger in the USA. Their idea is to end hunger through gardening. The founder, Holly Hirshberg , had grown fruits and veggies in her garden for many years and thought she could help out the food shelves by growing more. That idea quickly grew into a plan where families and communities could weather the tough times and reduce or eliminate their reliance on food banks by growing produce themselves. So, now to help people achieve their gardens she sends packages of seeds all over the country. Even if you have never had a garden you can find info and help on how to do it. You provide the dirt and water and Holly will help you with the rest.  The Dinner Garden needs your help! You can go to the website and make a donation so they can continue to provide free seeds to anyone who wants them. For $5, The Dinner Garden can send enough seeds to a family to provide produce for seven people for a year! Check out their website and read about the great things The Dinner Garden is doing!
